The window tint brings a stylish appeal and protective features to any vehicle. You can enjoy these tint features for a long time. But at some point in time, the tint will degrade and need replacement. When replacing the car tinting, it is crucial to apply proper window tint removal to make the new tint installation smooth.

Window tint removal may seem easy, but it is more challenging than the installation. To avoid tint removal issues, have a specialist make the tint removal and application to get the right results.

While removing the window film is a doable task, you need to be extra careful to avoid damage to the glass. If you choose to do it yourself, consider these methods to remove car tint:

  • The soap-and-scrape method is a quick and easy way to apply window film. Use this method in the tint-peeling process. The process may seem easy, but it may require you to exert extra effort as it can get you tired quickly.
  • Ammonia-and-sun technique is another proven method to get the tint off your car window. Sun heat can unfix the adhesive, so do this on a warm sunny day to make it more effective. Be careful when using chemicals, and always wear a mask to avoid inhaling the toxic fumes it releases.
  •  A hair dryer or a blow-dryer technique can remove window tint. Just run the hair dryer starting from the edges of the window at about 2–4 inches away. The heat from the dryer will loosen the adhesive and make it easy to peel the tint off the glass.

Once the old film removal is completed, safely apply the new window film. There are different window films to choose from, and they all have features to enhance and look and feel of your car. You may want to a professional window tint removal service to save yourself from the troubles of poor tinting.
