Are you planning to have your window tint replaced with a new one? Well, if you do make sure to contact a window tint removal Basin Pocket to make certain that the windows are thoroughly cleaned.

The difficulty of having them removed will also depend on the longevity of the tint on the car. A car with a two-year-old window tint would be much easier to have the tints removed than a car with a ten-year-old window tint.

If you are planning to have the window tints removed yourself, you will need the following:

  • Razor blades
  • Ammonia glass cleaner
  • A heat gun
  • Paper towels or newspaper
  • Scotch bright pads

To start with the removal process you will need to make sure to heat the heat gun and soak the window with an ammonia glass cleaner. Heat the window on the outside with the heat gun. With the use of a razor blade, begin removing the corner of the window film at the top of the window. If you are careful and does this correctly, you will be able to remove the tint as a whole piece.

If you are not able to remove the tint in one piece, then you will have to scrape it with a razor blade. But make sure not to scrap the back window to avoid damaging the rear defroster.

Once you have removed the window film, you also need to remove the adhesive glue. This is where you can use the scotch bright pad.

The process of removing the window tint of your car takes meticulous cleaning and time so if you are uncertain about doing this, just hire a professional for help.
