New window film will take about three to five days to dry fully, sometimes a lot longer depending on film brand, type, and weather conditions. Tinted windows look great, and you want them to stay like that. Knowing window tint care and maintenance is helpful to keep them looking good all year round. Clean tinted windows with a soft cloth, alcohol-based cleaner, or plain water. Do not use ammonia products for cleaning. Black Dotted Matrix Most cars have a black ceramic 'frit' edge on the rear window. Sometimes this ceramic edge is straight and flat, and sometimes it will have a dotted border. These black ceramic dots are quite thick on most cars and prevent the window film from sticking to the area between the dots. It results in a whitish-looking strip trimming the glass. Typically this isn't very noticeable. However, some cars have a broad band of dots decorating the top of the rear window. This area is so broad that the whitish-looking area created is more pronounced. Unfortunately, the effect is unavoidable. Seat belt hits the glass The window tint might get small chips when the seat belt hits the glass as it is released. Caution should be used when releasing seat belts. If you have new window tinting, this is not covered by the warranty. Night Time Defroster Distortion ight you may notice that the light from headlights will reflect off the defogger lines. It is caused by the film having to bend slightly around the raised defogger line, which varies from car to car, and nothing can be done about it. Comments are closed.
