Many auto accessories are available today, which our vehicles can enjoy, and one accessory that has already become a necessity is window tinting. It has already become popular as it is a means of luxury and design and must-have for car owners.
Perhaps the most apparent reason for tinting your vehicle is that it outfits and protects it from the sun. But aside from that, you will also be able to enjoy its privacy, theft deterrent, shattered glass prevention and anti-glare features. With the many benefits of window tinting, there are important things to know before tinting your vehicle.
Know the tinting law
Before you choose the right windows tinting for vehicles, make sure to know the law regarding window tinting. Different states provide different regulations regarding the films that you can use. Some territories may not allow tint to be placed on the front, but it is possible at the back and sides. Some states also prohibit very dark tints on vehicles, so make sure to check on those first.
Are you exempted from the tinting law?
Suppose you have a valid reason or related medical condition that requires the application of darker window tint than the law required. In that case, you will need to present a legally obtained document from your doctor stating your case when you are stopped. It should include your condition, the period of validity, and your vehicle model and make.
Eligibility for medical exemptions and tint film darkness depends on each state. However, note that some states do not allow darker window tints even for medical reasons.
