Having your car windows tinted is a personal decision. When you choose to tint your car, you have to select the right one base on your needs and preferences.

So how do you choose the right window tint for your vehicle? You should know that there are different types of window film available to consumers. Each has various features so that you can decide which one is perfect for your vehicle.

Common Types of Auto Window Film

Dyed Window Film. This film has a layer of the dye placed between the adhesive and the outer protective polyester. It is not that expensive and can provide the darkest shade, can reduce glare, and non-reflective. The negative side of dyed window film is the colour can fade over time. It does not block out heat effectively, the layers can sever over time, and it is prone to air bubbles when incorrectly installed.

Metallic Window Film. This type of film has a chemically-treated inner layer to block out UV light and also has a metallic coating on the other side to darken the film and reflect heat radiation. It is very durable and can last long, does not fade over time, effectively blocks out UV rays and glare, but it is more expensive than dye.

Hybrid Window Film. Hybrid is a combination of metallic and dyed film. It composes dye, adhesive, metalized layers, and a protective topcoat. It has all the advantages of metallic and more since it is not as reflective as the metalized layer and does not interfere with mobile and radio signals. It is more affordable than the metallic film, and fading does not often occur.

While there are different choices, you will have comply with the darkest legal tint Yamanto. Legal tinting will prevent you from getting tint violation ticket.
